The Tata Punch, a compact SUV that has captured the hearts of Indian car enthusiasts, is set to receive a major facelift in early 2025.
This much-anticipated update promises to elevate the Punch’s design, features, and performance, solidifying its position as a top contender in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.
Design Enhancements
The Tata Punch Facelift will boast a refreshed exterior, drawing inspiration from the brand’s latest design language.
Key changes include the introduction of connected LED daytime running lights (DRLs), vertically slotted LED headlamps, and a new front bumper design.
The side profile will feature updated alloy wheel designs, while the rear end is expected to receive subtle tweaks to the taillights and bumper.
Inside the cabin, the Punch Facelift will undergo a more significant transformation.
The dashboard layout will remain largely unchanged, but the infotainment system will be upgraded to a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen unit.
Additionally, the instrument cluster will feature a new 10.25-inch digital display, providing the driver with a more modern and intuitive interface.
Tata has also focused on enhancing the Punch’s overall cabin experience.
The new model will feature a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, as well as touch-based controls for the air conditioning and other functions.
Ventilated seats and an updated JBL sound system are also expected to be part of the Punch Facelift’s feature list.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the Tata Punch Facelift is expected to retain the same powertrain as the current model.
This includes a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 87 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque.
Transmission options will continue to include a five-speed manual and an AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox.
One notable addition, however, is the availability of a CNG variant. The Punch Facelift will offer a petrol-CNG powertrain option, catering to the growing demand for more fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly vehicles.
Pricing and Launch – Tata Punch Facelift
Tata Motors is anticipated to unveil the Punch Facelift at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, with an expected launch in the early months of 2025.
The pricing of the updated model is expected to see a significant hike compared to the current Punch, which is currently priced between ₹7.25 lakh and ₹12.11 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
The Punch Facelift’s enhanced features, design, and powertrain options are expected to help the compact SUV regain its position as a top-selling model in the Indian market.
Tata’s focus on safety, technology, and overall driving experience is likely to appeal to a wide range of customers, from urban commuters to adventure-seekers.
As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, the Tata Punch Facelift stands ready to reclaim its throne, offering a compelling package that blends style, functionality, and a touch of Tata’s signature flair.
